Welcome to Delph House where we put the emphasis on quality of life. Our care goal is to make all individual residents as happy and comfortable as possible for as long as possible, given their unique strengths and abilities. Our approach is fully personalised and tailored to each individual as we understand that everyone has unique requirements that need to be met.
We understand that moving into a Poole nursing home can be a difficult process for the new resident as well as the family members. Our establishment sees family members as close partners who will work alongside us to offer the highest quality long term care available.
The role and importance of the family can never be understated. We encourage regular visitations due to the positive impact they have on the resident. We will be very flexible when it comes to accepting visitors into our nursing home in Poole. When notified in advance, we can also include the family members in the activities that have been pre-planned for the day.
Activities are an essential part of the life at our nursing home Poole residents can trust. Our team is open to suggestions from the residents and will always go the extra mile in order to incorporate them into the program.
We always do our very best to meet the requirements of all individuals because it is important to us that they can keep doing the things they loved doing prior to moving into our home. Some of the past favourites have included all of the following:
Our facilities aim to make the life of our residents as comfortable as possible. Please keep reading below to find out more about everything that your loved one will be able to enjoy at our nursing home Poole.
Our hairdresser visits the home every Monday – the resident will simply need to inform the staff if they would like to book an appointment.
All laundry will be collected from the resident’s room and carried out on the premises. If relatives would prefer to wash the clothes at home, then we can supply separate bags for this purpose.
Delph House organises Communion as well as Church of England services. The dates for these services will be displayed on the notice board in our reception area.
We will make every effort to enable the resident to carry on with their existing GP. However, if the individual is from outside the area, they will need to register with a local GP who will be based at the Hadleigh Practice.

Here at Delph House, we believe that every individual has unique needs that can be split into the following categories – physical, psychological, cultural, social and spiritual. These needs will need to be experienced even when the elderly person enters long term care at a nursing home in Poole.
Every member of our nursing home Poole team will adhere to our philosophy statement. All of our staff members are caring dedicated professionals who have a genuine passion for what they do, which is helping people.
“My dad has been residing at Delph House for over 5 months now and will be his permanent, nursing home. I had a choice of two other nursing homes – two others in Poole – and I am so glad that I chose Delph House. Home cooked food is prepared and baked in the home’s kitchen and dad loves his food and he hasn’t complained once of any meals! Fruit salad is given to dad, instead of cake in the mid-morning and afternoon tea and coffee times, as he is a diabetic. The staff are all very friendly, attentive and respectful of dad’s personal care and needs, despite his aggressive ways with his dementia. I could list the names of all the great carers and staff at Delph House but I wouldn’t want to miss out anyone in error but they all do a great job in my opinion.” –Sue Sawyer
We work with the family members closely to get as much information as possible about the new residents moving into our Poole nursing home. This enables us to provide personalised care that has been tailored to the needs and requirements of the individual.
This is achieved through the use of a range of interpersonal communication methods that encourage the individual to reminisce, express emotions and be stimulated socially and physically. Our care model is truly unique when compared to any other nursing home Poole residents may be considering for their family member.
